🚨Disney’s AI dilemma

Report: Disney’s internal Slack data was leaked online by a hacktivist group called “Nullbulge”, which claims to advocate for artist rights and opposes Disney’s use of AI in creative processes.

🔑Key Points:

  • Massive Data Leak: Nullbulge leaked over a terabyte of data from Disney’s internal Slack channels, including login credentials, code, images, and unreleased project information.
  • Access Method: The group claimed to have accessed Disney’s internal systems via a compromised employee’s computer, downloading and packaging data from nearly 10,000 corporate Slack channels.
  • Hacktivist Motives: Nullbulge targeted Disney due to its handling of artist contracts, its approach to AI, and perceived consumer disregard, reflecting broader industry concerns about the impact of AI on creative professionals.

This leak underscores growing tensions between tech-driven corporations and creative professionals, highlighting the potential risks of AI in the creative industry and raising concerns about corporate data security and ethical practices.


  • AI-Generated Radio: YouTube Music is testing an AI-generated conversational radio feature that allows users to create custom radio stations by describing their music preferences. This feature is currently available to select Premium users in the U.S.
  • Song Recognition Tool: YouTube Music is rolling out a new song recognition tool that lets users discover songs by singing, humming, or playing them. This feature is now available to all users across iOS and Android.
  • Enhanced Song Discovery: Both new features aim to enhance song discovery on YouTube Music, similar to AI playlist generation tools being tested by other music streaming services like Spotify and Amazon Music.

  • SpreadsheetLLM Introduction: Microsoft unveiled SpreadsheetLLM, a large language model specifically designed to handle various spreadsheet tasks, promising to transform data management and analysis.
  • SheetCompressor Framework: To address token overload in spreadsheets, Microsoft developed SheetCompressor, an innovative encoding framework that compresses spreadsheets efficiently, significantly improving the performance of LLMs.
  • Chain of Spreadsheet (CoS): SpreadsheetLLM employs the Chain of Spreadsheet methodology to streamline spreadsheet reasoning into a table detection-match-reasoning pipeline, enhancing its ability to understand and process spreadsheet data effectively.

  • Beta Access: Initially, 5% of Deezer’s paying subscribers will have access to this beta feature, enabling them to generate playlists tailored to specific scenarios, such as workouts or study sessions.
  • Content Moderation: The app ensures that prompts are free from hate speech, dangerous content, sexually explicit material, or harassment before generating playlists, utilizing Google’s Gemini 1.5 AI model for this feature.

  • Google Vids Introduction: Google Vids, an AI-powered video creation app, has been launched in Workspace Labs, integrated with the Google Workspace suite.
  • Features: The app includes high-quality templates, the Gemini AI for quick drafting, a royalty-free stock content library, and a recording studio, all accessible within Workspace.
  • Resources and Updates: Users can find more information and tutorials in the help center, view examples, and follow the Google Workspace blog for updates and developments.
